KALITTA AIR, LLC, and CONRAD (\u201cCONNIE\u201d) KALITTA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kalitta Air was named in a lawsuit filed yesterday for refusing to accommodate employees<br \/>\nexempt from the company\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Loyal mechanics, pilots,<br \/>\ndispatchers, and leaders who dedicated years of their lives to Kalitta have now lost their<br \/>\nlivelihoods because they could not take the vaccine for medical or religious reasons. While<br \/>\nthose employees had worked safely throughout the pandemic\u2014and had the ability to<br \/>\ncontinue doing so\u2014Kalitta ignored requests for reasonable accommodations to their<br \/>\nmandate.<\/p>\n<p>Regrettably, the company\u2019s policy is nothing more than an unlawful policy decision by<br \/>\nmanagement that failed to follow federal anti-discrimination laws, the example of other<br \/>\ncompanies, CDC guidance, and common sense. Rather than follow the law, Kalitta chose to<br \/>\nhurt loyal employees and their families\u2014all while claiming to be a \u201cfamily\u201d company.<\/p>\n<p>While many have been able to find other work at companies that do not mistreat their<br \/>\nemployees, some Kalitta workers are still without jobs for months and all of them have been<br \/>\nharmed by the company\u2019s actions. We expect Kalitta to restore people\u2019s livelihoods and<br \/>\nmake right the damage they caused in illegally enforcing their vaccine mandate against those<br \/>\nunable to take the shot.
